This talk by JOHN H. BOYES, President of GLIAS, will look at the history of the aesthetic and practical design of bridges, together with comments on their local associations and their legends. The history of bridge building is in part the history of mankind itself.

"THE VAN KANNEL REVOLVING DOOR CO."
MR. PEARSON will trace the history of the Van Kannel Revolving Door from its patenting in Washington in 1887 through to its registration in London in 1889 and the subsequent move of the V. K. Door Co. (UK) to Watford around 1911. Supplied to prestigious banks, institutions and shipping lines over nearly three decades, it seems that three such doors were fitted on the ill-fated liner, the 'Titanic'.
